Nuts Wheat Germ Cookies

cup butter or margarine |

tsp. salt |

1-1/2 |

cups brown sugar (packed) |
1/2 |

tsp. cinnamon |
|

eggs |

cups rolled oats |

tsp. vanilla |

cup wheat germ |

1-1/2 |

cups whole wheat flour |
3/4 |

cup Wheat Nuts (coarsely
chopped) |

tsp. baking soda |

| Cream
butter or margarine and brown sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Mix
in flour, soda, salt, and cinnamon. Add rolled oats, wheat germ,
and Wheat Nuts. |

| Shape
dough into two rolls about 1 1/2-inch thick. Wrap in foil or waxed
paper and place in freezer until firm (at least 15 minutes). |

| Cut
into 1/4-inch slices. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350
degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Makes about 5 dozen cookies. |

year? They won't become rancid like ordinary nuts. Just store them
in a dry place with the cap securely tightened. |
