Wheat Nuts Wheat Germ Cookies
Nutritious as they are delicious!

cup butter or margarine

tsp. salt

cups brown sugar (packed)

tsp. cinnamon

eggs

cups rolled oats
1/2 
tsp. vanilla
1/2
cup wheat germ
1-1/2
cups whole wheat flour

cup Wheat Nuts (coarsely chopped)

tsp. baking soda
 
Cream butter or margarine and brown sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Mix in flour, soda, salt, and cinnamon. Add rolled oats, wheat germ, and Wheat Nuts.
Shape dough into two rolls about 1 1/2-inch thick. Wrap in foil or waxed paper and place in freezer until firm (at least 15 minutes).
Cut into 1/4-inch slices. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Makes about 5 dozen cookies.

Did you know that Wheat Nuts have a shelf life of at least one year? They won't become rancid like ordinary nuts. Just store them in a dry place with the cap securely tightened.
