| Cream shortening
and brown sugar. Beat in egg and vanilla. Mix in flour, baking powder,
rolled oats and Wheat Nuts. Reserve 1 cup of oatmel layer for topping.
Press the rest into a greased 9"x9" pan. |

| Melt chocolate chips, butter
or margarine and sweetened condensed milk over low heat in a double
boiler or microwave oven. Mix in salt, vanilla and Wheat Nuts. Spread
over oatmeal layer. Cover with the reserved 1 cup of oatmeal mixture. |

| Bake at 350 degrees for
25 minutes. Cool and cut into squares. |

top generously with Wheat Nuts! |
