Wheat Nuts Chocolate Maple Candy

12-oz. bag chocolate chips
1
12-oz bag butterscotch chips
2
cups peanut butter
1
cup butter or margarine
1
14-oz. can sweetened condensed milk
1
small package regular (not instant) vanilla pudding mix
1
tsp. maple flavoring
2
lbs. powdered sugar

7-oz. jars Wheat Nuts, slightly broken or coarsely chopped
Melt the chocolate and butterscotch chips together in a double boiler or microwave oven. Mix in peanut butter. Spread 2/3 of this mixture in a 10x15 inch pan and place in freezer to harden quickly.
Melt butter or margarine in a no stick pan. Add the sweetened condensed milk, pudding mix and maple flavoring. Boil for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and mix in the powdered sugar. Spread and pat over top of first layer. (This layer will be the consistency of cookie dough.)
Mix the remainder of the chocolate mixture with the Wheat Nuts. Spread over entire surface. Cut into 1 inch squares before too hard. Refrigerate.
